The Industrial Products and Services Marketing Group, in its abbreviated form Gi, is a Superior Business Management Organization (OSDE), created in February 2015. By agreement number 7687 of the Executive Committee of the Council of Ministers, the reorganization of the Ministry of Internal Trade and the constitution of this organization in order to coordinate and comprehensively control the results of the companies that comprise it. Known by the name of Grupo Industrial, GI, it is a new type of organization, diversified and with a solid presence in the industrial activity of domestic trade and a wide network of warehouses that covers the entire national territory. Among its most important functions is the management of the companies that make it up to ensure domestic wholesale trade, non-food products and services. GI is the main wholesale marketing group for non-food products and for the provision of services, which stands out for its independence, competitiveness and generation of values for the Cuban state, clients and workers of the organization.
In the business sphere, the organization has taken on new missions or state assignments of a national nature with a great impact on the services provided to the population, such as the Construction Materials Program, the Cleaning Program, and recently the care to the new forms of non-state production and the projection of the creation of cooperatives in the service sector, all in correspondence with the Guidelines of the Party and the Revolution, as well as attention to regulated products with great impact on the population such as the basket module, the school uniform, the bedridden and disabled module, the prophylactic footwear and the modeling of the consumer registry, among others. Its main activity is wholesale marketing, and it also provides air-conditioned equipment repair services, sells products and spare parts linked to the Energy Saving Program -PAE- to the Information and Communication Technologies system, cargo transportation, advertising, among others.
